Focus on Face to Face Counseling

Many of the Managed Care and National EAP services across the nation have evolved into glorified referral services. They consist of large phone bank cubicles with staff that have little or no psychological or counseling training. They will take calls and typically refer employees right into their medical benefit plans.

Standing true to what EAP was designed to be, T.E.A.M., Inc. is one of the few remaining EAP's that still promotes face to face counseling and personalized service. When an individual calls into T.E.A.M. and talks to one of our trained counselors on the phone, they receive an assessment of the issue they are struggling with and are always strongly encouraged to come into T.E.A.M. and sit down face to face with one of our counselors. T.E.A.M. counselors do not routinely refer them after one session, as many EAP's will.
