Confidentiality

T.E.A.M. Inc. complies with confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA, state and federal laws. Employees and family members who use T.E.A.M.'s services are assured that they will be given the maximum confidentiality permitted by law.

Respecting your right to confidentiality is very important to T.E.A.M. counselors. However, please be aware that there are certain circumstances that require us to break confidentiality. These situations are:

If you give us information about the abuse or neglect a child
If you give us information about the abuse or neglect of a vulnerable adult
If we are aware that you are a pregnant woman exposing your fetus to street drugs
If you give us information about sexual misconduct by a counselor/therapist
If you give us information that suggests you are a danger to others
If you give us information that suggests you are a danger to yourself
If a court orders us to provide information regarding your situation
